AI Everywhere At CES 2025 With Spotlight On Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang
The CES 2025 technology trade show in Las Vegas promises to showcase advancements in key areas led by artificial intelligence, robotics and wearable devices.
But AI likely will be the key theme at the show, which officially runs Jan. 7-10. Preshow events begin Sunday.

AI’s Next Frontier: The Tech Set To Dominate CES 2025
Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive of AI chip leader Nvidia (NVDA), will give the opening keynote on Monday evening.
After focusing on AI processors for data centers for the past two years or so, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nvidia is likely to introduce AI chips for PCs at CES, according to media reports.
Those products could include desktop graphics processing units based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture. Those new GPUs are the rumored GeForce RTX 50-series, targeted at gamers and creators. Nvidia also might announce an Arm (ARM)-based central processing unit to compete against Qualcomm (QCOM) as well as AMD (AMD) and Intel (INTC).
Nvidia’s Huang undoubtedly will provide a broad overview of the artificial intelligence market after he takes the stage at CES 2025. Nvidia has been the go-to provider of powerful server processors for AI applications since the current generative AI craze started in November 2022 with the release of the ChatGPT chatbot from OpenAI.
‘AI Everywhere’ At CES 2025
AI is finding its way into consumer devices, ranging from automobiles and smartphones to home appliances and digital health products.
CES 2025 attendees can expect to see “AI everywhere” at the show, Marjorie Costello, editor and publisher of CE Online News, told Investor’s Business Daily.
“You’re going to see the AI logo on popular consumer electronics,” Costello said. “AI will be in everyday products that people have in their homes, like TVs. I don’t know about toaster ovens.”
Some of the more unusual AI-powered items being pitched at CES 2025 include a smart planter (LeafyPod), a smart spice dispenser (Spicerr) and an automated cat litter box (Petkit).
AI was a big theme at last year’s CES and that will continue at this year’s show, Gary Shapiro, chief executive of the Consumer Technology Association, told IBD. The association produces CES.
“I think you’ll see the words ‘artificial intelligence’ in at least half the exhibits at CES,” Shapiro said.
Not Just One ‘Story Of The Show’
The news media tries to pick “the story of the show” and wants a different one each year, he said. But there are usually multiple big themes at CES and they tend to stick around for several years, Shapiro said.
“Generative AI is worth a few years,” he said. “Quantum (computing) is just starting, and we’ll be talking about that for the next few years.”
Some cheeky companies at CES 2025 are changing what AI stands for, much like Apple (AAPL) did with its “Apple Intelligence.” LG Electronics refers to its AI as “Affectionate Intelligence.” Samsung is selling car tech called “Automotive Intelligence.”
Meanwhile, companies are still trying to develop the defining consumer product for the AI age.
Last year saw the Humane AI Pin and the Rabbit R1 handheld product, both of which flopped. CES 2025 will see a new set of devices, such as the Bee wristband audio AI assistant and the Luci chest-pin camera AI assistant from OpenInterX.
Elsewhere, former Apple design chief Jony Ive is working with OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman on an AI hardware device.
Keynote Speakers, Hot Product Areas
In addition to Nvidia’s Huang, other keynote speakers at CES 2025 include Ed Bastion, chief executive of Delta Air Lines (DAL); Julie Sweet, chief executive of Accenture (ACN); Linda Yaccarino, chief executive of X, formerly Twitter; and Tekedra Mawakana, co-CEO of Waymo, the autonomous driving technology unit of Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL).
On the CES 2025 expo floor, attendees will see a bunch of hot product areas.
Smart glasses is one such exciting category after the success of Meta Ray-Bans, a partnership of Facebook parent Meta Platforms (META) and EssilorLuxottica. Multiple companies will be promoting rival smart glasses at the show.
Companies are focused on adding audio technologies to glasses to allow users to make and receive phone calls and listen to music. AI technologies for glasses include real-time language translation, turn-by-turn directions, and voice-based personal digital assistants. In addition, smart glasses with built-in cameras allow for taking photos and videos and for identifying places, objects and people.
Some companies are still trying to add displays to smart glasses, but those products so far have been inelegant and not ready for prime time.
Other firms at CES 2025 are focused on adding AI assistant smarts to wireless earbuds. Plus, some earbuds are being marketed as a substitute for traditional hearing aids.
Meanwhile, more than a dozen companies will be pitching smart rings at CES 2024, including category leader Oura. These devices track health metrics like blood pressure and oxygenation, heart rate, body temperature, activity and sleep patterns. They perform many functions that used to be limited to smartwatches and fitness bands.
CES 2025: Satellites, Robots And More
Another hot theme will be satellite communications services for consumers. Satellite telecom firms Iridium Communications (IRDM), Globalstar (GSAT) and SpaceX unit Starlink will be at CES 2025. Satellite services are being added to smartphones and other mobile devices.
CES 2025 will feature a plethora of robots too. They’ll range from robot vacuums and lawn mowers to robot bartenders and delivery bots. At least one company (Agility Robotics) will have a humanoid robot on display.
Last year’s CES show drew 4,312 exhibitors and more than 138,000 attendees. Over 5,300 media representatives covered CES 2024.
New topic areas at the 2025 show include beauty and fashion technology, quantum computing, neurotech and energy transition.
CES 2025 will stray further from its roots as the former Consumer Electronics Show.
Heavy equipment makers for construction and agriculture will have a large presence at this year’s show. Exhibitors include Caterpillar (CAT), Deere (DE), Komatsu (KMTUY), Kubota (KUBTY) and Oshkosh (OSK).
This year’s show also will feature automakers BMW, Honda (HMC), Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz (MBGAF), Toyota (TM), Volkswagen (VWAGY) and Volvo. Plus, boat maker Brunswick (BC) will weigh anchor at the conference.
Really Big TV Screens Coming
In addition to name-brand product makers, CES plays host to numerous companies that make ingredient technologies for devices. That includes software, semiconductors, sensors, displays and other hardware.
Despite the diversification of CES, traditional consumer electronics companies are still a big part of the show. Major exhibitors include Hisense, LG, Samsung, Sony (SONY) and TCL. They’ll be showing off the latest high-definition big-screen televisions and home and car audio systems.
“You’re going to see more 100-plus-inch flat-panel TVs,” Costello said. “Everybody’s making bigger TVs — 100, 105, 110 inches.”
