Akron-Canton Airport prepares for holiday travel
(WKBN) — By Wednesday, the Akron-Canton Airport will be quite busy with travelers, so much so they’ve added extra flights.
But the airport is cool, calm and collected. More TSA lanes and systems have made it smooth. Now, it’s up to the travelers to do the same.
“We do recommend that if you are not checking a bag, come at least 60 minutes ahead of time. If you are checking a bag, come 90 minutes ahead of time just to make sure that everything’s smooth sailing with the influx of people,” said Lisa Dalpiaz.
She also recommends downloading the airport’s app to get real-time updates and learn what you can and can’t bring on board.
Dalpiaz said two popular hubs are Charlotte and Chicago.
“So we know that a lot of people are using those to get to their hometowns or getting back here from wherever they’re living but we also know that Orlando is a big one, Charleston, Savannah, Hilton Head, Fort Myers, Tampa — we have 10 destinations to nonstop destinations to Florida so that is, that’s always a big one for us,” Dalpiaz said.
