Alan Jurison Joins Quu – Radio World
Engineer has technical background at iHeart, Citadel
Alan Jurison, one of the radio industry’s most vocal proponents of active metadata management, has joined Quu Inc., a prominent service provider of that technology.
Jurison most recently was senior operations engineer at iHeartMedia, where he worked for 13 years until November. Prior to that he worked for companies including Citadel and Pilot Communications. He has written often for Radio World readers about best practices for RDS and HD Radio data display; he speaks frequently on the topic at industry trade shows.
He also chairs the National Radio Systems Committee’s IBOC Standards Development Working Group and has been active in the NAB Radio Technology Committee; he will continue in those roles.
Quu provides tools for radio stations to deploy visual content, including sponsorable metadata on car dashboards.
Jurison, who received Radio World’s Excellence in Engineering Award in 2024, will report to Quu Senior Director of Technical Services Joe Marshall. The company said, “Alan will spearhead initiatives to enhance radio broadcasts with dynamic visual programming and sales messaging.”
Jurison will attend CES this week.
