All of Beyoncé’s Met Gala Fashion Through the Years

There’s a reason that Beyoncé has been coronated Queen Bey: What she’s primarily known for is excellence. Whether she’s releasing music, touring the world, or walking the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Costume Institute’s annual Met Gala, Beyoncé absolutely rules.

Since her debut at the yearly gala in 2008, Bey has been a highlight of the event’s best-dressed lists. At 26 years old, the singer first walked the carpet in a strapless powder pink Armani Privé gown, just a month after marrying Jay-Z in a secret ceremony.

Since that debut, however, the artist has gotten bolder with her looks. There was 2011’s Emilio Pucci mermaid dress that was so tight she needed significant help getting up the stairs, and there was 2015’s barely there Givenchy gown, sheer but for clusters of strategically placed crystals.

Between 2012 and 2016, which marked her last appearance at the Met Gala, Beyoncé achieved a five-year streak of wearing Givenchy gowns to the event, most recently donning a peachy latex gown featuring puffed shoulders for a decidedly different take on the year’s sci-fi “Manus x Machina” theme.

Ahead, take a look at all of Beyoncé’s Met Gala looks over the years.
