AlpineFest 2024 offers free food and fun to Stateline community
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – As Rockford students prepare to return to school this week, a local church offers some free family fun to end the summer right.
There were plenty of entertainment options Sunday afternoon for AlpineFest 2024 at Alpine Lutheran Church in the 5000 block of Forest View Avenue. Among the attractions at AlpineFest were live music, a balloon artist, bouncy house, crafts and free food. Organizers say AlpineFest is the perfect way for the church to connect with the community.
“Really the best part has been the connections we are able to make,” said Alpine Church Council President Scott Dabson. “So the ways that we have been able to meet people in the community and be able to connect with them, and then invite them back for other things that we do. We do several events throughout the year, this is the biggest one. But we like to be able to have the community to be a part of what we’re doing here at Alpine and this has been a really good way for us to be able to do that.”
