Amarillo City Council approves development agreements for Kids Inc sports complex
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo City Council approved three development agreements Tuesday that are intended to jump start construction of the Kids Inc sports complex in south Amarillo.
The construction costs for infrastructure for water and other utilities, streets and a parking lot would first be paid by the partners and then reimbursed over time as tax collections rise from development in a zone at the intersection of Loop 335 and I-27.
Partners include Amarillo Economic Development Corporation contributing $7.5 million for streets and utilities, Attebury Elevators and Rockrose Development spending $4.6 million on streets and utilities and Attebury and Rockrose building a $3 million parking lot.
