Amazon is gearing up for the 2024 holiday season by announcing 12,000 jobs across Georgia, including 8,000 in Atlanta, 1,000 in Jefferson and 2,000 in Savannah.

Since 2010, Amazon has created around 34,000 jobs in Georgia and invested $18.5 billion in the state, boosting the economy by an extra $20.1 billion and creating over 44,000 indirect jobs.

Amazon has also announced a big wage increase for its hourly workers, with an extra $1.50 per hour starting this month.

Now with a base wage of over $22, Amazon is looking to fill up 250,000 jobs nationwide, including full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles.

What are seasonal jobs?

Seasonal jobs are basically just how it sounds. It is temporary employment that can range in duration that recurs around the same time every year. In this case, that time every year would be during the holiday season.

These seasonal gigs come with competitive pay and flexible schedules, plus there is a chance to turn those seasonal roles into full-time jobs after the holidays.
