Amazon Fulfillment Center starts hiring July 5; no resume, no experience, no interview

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Louisiana’s state Representative Steven Jackson speaks to KSLA about the upcoming Amazon jobs in Shreveport.

On July 5, at 7 p.m., after a long wait and many delays, the Shreveport Amazon Fulfillment Center, 1625 Corporate Drive, will begin opening the hiring process for hourly positions.

La. Rep Steven Jackson explains the different jobs and benefits Amazon plans to provide.

Around 1,000 jobs will be available, including hourly, seasonal, and flexible jobs. Every Friday at 7 p.m., 300 – 400 positions will open up, so Jackson suggests you are waiting and ready because it’s first come served.

“You wanna be in front of a computer because it’s first come first serve. There is no resume required, there is no interview required. Once you hit submit on that application, your spot, uh, your position is reserved. And the only way you don’t get the job is if you don’t pass your background check of if you didn’t pass the drug screening,” explains Jackson.

Any person is welcome to apply, your age doesn’t matter, your experience doesn’t matter, and even if you have a nonviolent conviction you are welcome to apply. The company is also not testing for marijuana.

There are positions specifically for spouses of active Military. Amazon also wants to encourage people with disabilities to apply.

The pay for these hourly positions will be around $17 per hour, plus benefits.
