Amp brings AI-enabled personal fitness training to Miami – Refresh Miami

By Zané van Greuning

In a city where fitness and wellness are woven into daily life, Amp has officially landed in Miami, introducing its AI-powered personal training system with the launch of a new showroom. The showroom, located at Oasis Wynwood, makes an immediate statement – sleek, modern, and minimalistic – mirroring the innovation behind the product.

Founder Shalom Meckenzie, a seasoned entrepreneur in sports and tech, alongside CPO Amir Levanon, formerly at Facebook and Apple, and personal trainer Ludovica Colasanto, provided a firsthand demo of the system.

At first glance, it’s clear that Amp is not your typical fitness equipment. It seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence with smart design to deliver highly personalized strength training. The system’s AI continually adapts to the user’s progress, ensuring that workouts evolve as the individual advances.

According to Meckenzie, the inspiration for Amp came from a personal place, “After losing my father, I realized how critical fitness and strength are to overall well-being. I wanted to make it more accessible to people in a way that fits into their daily lives.”

What stands out is the machine’s minimalistic design, it’s compact and unobtrusive, fitting into a living space rather than being relegated to a garage or home gym. It’s clear that aesthetics are a priority here and that this is a fitness tool meant to be displayed, not hidden away.

At the heart of Amp’s appeal is its AI-driven customization. As you train, the machine learns from your performance, creating a dynamic workout plan tailored to your abilities and goals. The more you use it, the more personalized it becomes, mimicking the role of a personal trainer without human oversight. This level of customization is one of Amp’s core features and speaks to the growing trend of AI integration in everyday consumer products.

“Personalization is key,” explained Colasanto, who played a role in shaping the system’s workout programming. “Amp learns from the user, offers the right amount of challenge, and makes fitness more accessible to everyone, regardless of experience level.”

Amp also taps into the growing trend of gamified workouts. Users can track their progress, set goals, and even compete with friends or other members of the Amp community. This interactive feature keeps workouts engaging, transforming exercise into something fun and dynamic rather than a monotonous chore.

Users have the option to choose workouts from a range of personal trainers who are well-known on social media. This influencer-driven approach adds another layer of engagement, offering personalized plans created by fitness professionals that users may already follow online.

Currently, the company has an oversubscribed waitlist and has begun testing the system with a select group of users. “We’re planning to launch soon, and our ultimate goal is to make Amp a fixture in most households, making fitness accessible,” said Levanon.

For now, Miami residents can experience this new wave of fitness technology firsthand at their showroom. Amp offers a glimpse into how artificial intelligence could reshape the way we train, combining the convenience of home workouts with the personalization of a professional trainer.
