Anime, Manga and Fitness: See the Toy Trends Spielwarenmesse Has Its Eyes On – Gifts & Decorative Accessories
Anime and fitness are taking over the toy world – at least according to the international trend committee and the Spielwarenmesse team.
International toy fair Spielwarenmesse will take place in Nuremberg, Germany from Jan. 28-Feb. 1 and the Spielwarenmesse team has identified “Anime & Friends” and “Healthy Heroes” as the top two trends expected in the coming year.
Anime and manga have been rising in popularity over the past few years not just with children, but all ages. The pop culture influences can be felt throughout merchandise, toys, video games and other media forms. Worldwide brands like Hello Kitty and Pokemon fit this category, but it’s expanding to become a full niche category to watch.
The “Healthy Heroes” trend focuses on the desire for children to “unite movement, mindfulness and healthy eating in one experience,” according to a release from Spielwarenmesse. With an increasing focus on emotional and mental health in conjunction with physical health, products that foster relaxation, mediation and physical activity are coming to the forefront.
New products within these trends will be prominently on display in Eingang Mitte, the central entrance of the fair. There will also be ToyTrend presentations in Hall 3A where attendees can learn more about each trend and how to plan for it.
More information on the trends can be found online.
