NATCHEZ — Downtown Natchez is the place to be this Saturday when merchants will hold sidewalk sales, offer in-store discounts, and much more during the Downtown Natchez Alliance’s annual Christmas in July event.

This year’s super sale coincides with the 2024 state sales tax holiday. Clothes, footwear, and school supplies all qualify for the sales tax holiday.

“Thirty-four businesses downtown are participating in DNA’s Christmas in July Sidewalk Sale Saturday. It’s exciting to see downtown businesses coalescing and working as one team,” said Kevin Miers, Downtown Natchez Alliance executive director. “Restaurants will have specials, shops are offering discounts and having sidewalk sales. There are going to be some big clearance sales. I’ve seen a lot of 50 percent off being advertised.

“On top of that, clothing, footwear, and school supplies will be exempt from sales tax because of the state sales tax holiday that lasts Friday through Sunday,” he said. “Christmas decor will be heavily discounted, but also you can shop for back-to-school or off to college clothes or new furniture from your home or patio,” Miers said. “Downtown has clothing boutiques for everyone, all sizes, young and old, men, women and children. And of course antiques and vintage items and thrift stores.”

Look for the red and green balloons that will be displayed by participating businesses, which include:

• Commerce Street — Arts District Studio, Consign & Design, Consignment & Moore at Jacobs, Planet Thailand, and The Shops at Kress.

• Franklin Street — Hal Garner at Nest, Franklin Street Relics, Kaelor & Co., Lower Lodge Antiques, Moreton’s Flowerland, Mother’s Natchez, My Shoe Kloset, Natchez Coffee Co. and Wishes Sweets & Eats.

• Pearl Street — Pearl Street Pasta and Slick Rick’s Cafe.

• Canal Street — The Pig Out Inn BBQ.

• Main Street — A Gallerie Boutique, Biscuits & Blues, Darby’s, Frankie’s on Main, Kelley Therapy, Miles 363 Men’s Apparel, Murray’s Market on Main, One of a Kind, The Painted Petal, Rise ‘N Shine Studio, Rolling River Reloaded and Soiree Boutique.

• Broadway Street — Smoot’s, Wardo’s Poboys.

• Under-the-Hill — Magnolia Grill and Silver Street Gallery & Gifts.
