Antonio Pierce: It’s good just to stop talking about losing

After starting the season 2-2, the Raiders had lost 10 in a row to fall to 2-12 entering Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.

But at long last, Las Vegas got a win over Jacksonville — something that was particularly welcome to head coach Antonio Pierce who called it “long overdue.”

“Yeah, it was good just to stop talking about losing,” Pierce said in his postgame press conference. “It’s all about winning. That was the song we were playing when we walked through the locker room. There is plenty of uncertainty surrounding Pierce’s future with the Raiders after he took over on an interim basis last season and was hired for the full-time role in January. But at least for one day, the Raiders got to celebrate a win for the first time since September.

Las Vegas will finish the season with a matchup at New Orleans in Week 17 before taking on the Chargers at home in Week 18.
