Apple Kills Iconic Sticker Tradition with iPhone 16 Release • iPhone in Canada Blog
Looks like you won’t be getting iconic Apple logo stickers in your iPhone 16 box, as the company has killed that longstanding tradition.
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will not include Apple stickers in box. The company stated that stickers will now only be available upon request when purchasing directly from an Apple Store, according to internal messaging to retail teams, seen by 9to5Mac.
Customers buying through third-party retailers, carriers, or ordering for home delivery won’t get Apple stickers.
Why the change? It’s all about the environment, of course. iPhone 16 series packaging is now smaller and fully fibre-based, moving closer to Apple’s goal of eliminating plastic from its packaging by 2025.
The writing was on the wall for the iconic Apple stickers. Earlier this year, stickers were also not included with Vision Pro, iPad Pro and the new iPad Air. Back in 2020, Apple reduced stickers from a pair to just one inside iPhone boxes.
I’m going to say most people never used the iconic Apple stickers that were included in the box. But it was definitely part of the unboxing and Apple experience to see them included for free. That is now coming to an end, sadly.
