Apple may launch a smart home camera and health-focused AirPods in 2026 – Times of India

Apple is developing its first smart home security camera and new health-focused AirPods, both targeted for release in 2026, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, citing supply chain reports.
The company giant aims to ship tens of millions of its smart home cameras annually, entering a market that currently sees global shipments of 30-40 million units per year. The device will feature wireless connectivity and deep integration with Apple Intelligence and Siri, noted Kuo in a blog post.
Goertek, a Chinese manufacturer, has secured exclusive assembly rights for the camera after resolving previous supply compliance issues with Apple. The same company will also serve as primary supplier for the 2026 AirPods model.

Apple plans new health-focused AirPods

The new AirPods will incorporate expanded health management capabilities similar to the Apple Watch, though specific features remain unconfirmed. Industry projections suggest AirPods shipments will grow from approximately 48 million units in 2023 to between 65-68 million units by 2026, driven partly by these new health features.
According to Kuo, Apple’s camera initiative represents the company’s strategic push into the smart home market following the cancellation of its car project. The device could complement Apple’s rumoured smart home display, expected to launch in 2025.
While Apple currently offers HomeKit Secure Video for third-party cameras, this would mark its first proprietary security camera. The system could leverage Apple’s emphasis on privacy and security, potentially setting new standards for the industry.
The timing aligns with the expected wider adoption of Matter-enabled cameras in 2026, as Apple continues expanding its smart home ecosystem beyond current offerings like HomePod and Apple TV.
