Apple Releases 6F21 Firmware Update for AirPods

Apple has released another firmware update for AirPods today.

The firmware is version 6F21, up from 6A326, which was released in June. It applies to AirPods Pro 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, and AirPods Max (Lightning).

The new build provides “bug fixes and improvements,” but Apple hasn’t provided a more detail change log.

Version 6F21 release notes
● Bug fixes and other improvements

Firmware updates are delivered periodically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Because firmware updates are delivered automatically, you don’t need to update your AirPods.

To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.

If you don’t already have AirPods, they are on sale today!
AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C) – $199 ($50 off)
AirPods 4 – $119 ($10 off)
AirPods 3 – $129.99 ($39.01 off)
AirPods Max (Lightning) – $449 ($100 off)
AirPods Max (USB-C) – $539 ($10 off)
