Apple Releases watchOS 11.0.1 Update With Two Major Fixes For Underlying Issues On The Apple Watch

Apple has released its first update for the Apple Watch after releasing watchOS 11 to the general public, and it comes with a handful of fixes for the wearable. It was previously reported that the Apple Watch has been experiencing touchscreen and battery life issues after the watchOS 11 update, and it appears the company took note of the inconveniences and released a fix with the watchOS 11.0.1 update.

Apple released watchOS 11.0.1 for the Apple Watch with various fixes and improvements

If you have updated your Apple Watch to watchOS 11, we advise you to install the latest watchOS 11.0.1 update, as it fixes a plethora of upgrades for the wearable. Owners of the compatible Apple Watch model can install the update through the dedicated Apple Watch app on their iPhones. Launch the app and head over to General > Software Update > and download the latest public build, watchOS 11.0.1 update. However, there are some prerequisites that you have to follow to install the update.

Make sure that your Apple Watch has over 50 percent battery life and is placed on a charger to install the update. Other than this, your Apple Watch should be connected to a secure internet connection and should be within the range of your iPhone. This is because updating the Apple Watch requires data transaction with the iPhone.

As for what is new in the update, watchOS 11.0.1 brings bug fixes for the Apple Watch, which could cause the Music app to crash. It also fixes a bug that was causing the Apple Watch’s battery to deplete faster than necessary. Lastly, it also fixes an issue where the display of the wearable becomes unresponsive on some occasions. You can check out the full changelog below for more details.

This update includes bug fixes for your Apple Watch, including:

– Apple Watch may unexpectedly restart for some users
– Music app may unexpectedly quit when loading media
– Battery may drain more quickly than expected
– Touch screen may be temporarily unresponsive for some Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users
– Messages may unexpectedly quit when replying to a message with a shared Apple Watch face

watchOS 11 is a significant update and brings a handful of changes to the table, including Smart Stacks and new notification summaries powered by Apple Intelligence, but the latter is not expected to arrive until the watchOS 11.1 update later this month. The company has also released iOS 18.0.1 and iPadOS 18.0.1 with various bug fixes and stability improvements. We will update you when the company releases additional updates with more performance improvements.
