Apple Watch Series X Design And Other Details Such As A Bigger 2-Inch Display Spotted In New CAD Render Gallery

The design and other specifications of the upcoming Apple Watch Series X have been revealed thanks to a new CAD render gallery that reveals most of the smartwatch’s details. The most prominent change out of all of them is that the display size bumped to 2 inches, making it bigger than the one present on the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Series 9. We unearthed more details from the CAD renders, so read on to learn more.

Based on the new CAD renders, Apple Watch Series X design will remain largely unchanged, with the Digital Crown and side button present in the same position

After our first look at some crisp Apple Watch Series X renders based on various rumors and hinting at a form factor with slimmer bezels, 91mobiles has now given us a closer look at the CAD images. The design is expected to remain untouched, with the Digital Crown and side button present in the same place as the earlier models, with the most notable upgrade being the display. Earlier, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that the Apple Watch Series X would arrive in two sizes, with both of them bigger than their direct predecessors, measuring 45mm and 49mm, along with a chassis that is up to 15 percent thinner.

On this occasion, we learn that the display measures 2 inches, which might have been achieved because the Apple Watch Series X features thinner bezels than previous-generation wearables. It is also rumored that the upcoming smartwatch will sport a new band connection system, with the accessory attaching through magnets. We have discussed this in a separate report, stating that a small part of the watch’s frame gets used on the older models to accommodate the band system.

Assuming the magnetic band connection debuts on the Apple Watch Series X, it will allow the company to save up on valuable internal space, potentially allowing for a bigger battery and other components. Unfortunately, based on the CAD renders, this new design might not be adopted this year, but we will keep our fingers crossed. After all, Apple introduced a massive design revamp with the iPhone X, celebrating this category’s tenth anniversary, so we have every reason to believe that the company will introduce some shift in appearance.
