Apple Will Reportedly Launch Five M4 Macs And One iPad mini 7 Model On November 1, But Dedicated Keynote May Not Happen

A lineup of Apple-branded hardware will launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, and based on the company’s previous announcements, a slew of M4 Macs will arrive during this period. However, the latest report includes a surprise entrant in the form of an iPad mini 7, and what is even more exciting is that a date has been provided as to when Apple is expected to make those unveilings, which is November 1.

One of the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro models has already gone on sale before the official announcements kick off

Like the M3 models, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman states in the latest ‘Power On’ newsletter that one of the M4 Macs will include a base 14-inch MacBook Pro bearing the codename J604, followed by high-end versions sporting the same 14-inch panel, along with a larger 16-inch display. All variants will likely sport mini-LED panels, with the more expensive portable Macs said to feature the codenames J614 and J616.

Coming to the M4 Mac mini, Apple’s minature computing powerhouse is finally getting a redesign and could be as small as an Apple TV, but loaded with exceptionally capable hardware. Best of all, there will be a higher-tier option where buyers can configure the machine with an M4 Pro. In fact, all of the MacBook Pro options will be able to feature up to an M4 Max.

Later this year, we should be greeted by an iMac successor, but it does not look as if Apple will be treating its ‘All In One’ to a different chassis, but at least customers will be happy to know that it will be equipped with its 3nm chipset. For those interested, this ‘desktop’ sports the codename ‘J623.’ Last but certainly not least, we are finally getting an iPad mini 7 after a truckload of rumors, with the compact slate featuring the codename J410.

Unfortunately, Gurman did not mention its specifications, and seeing as how its predecessor, the iPad mini 6, shipped with an A15 Bionic, we are actually torn about which silicon the iPad mini 7 will be equipped with. Looking at the latest 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models, we are inclined to believe that Apple will incorporate the upcoming model with an M2, but let us wait for the official announcements to kick off so we can finally learn the truth.

As for those wanting to see what the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro or how its retail box looks like, it was previously reported to have gone on sale at a private Facebook group, with its design identical to the M3 version.
