GIRLS BASKETBALL

Whitefish Bay 50, Appleton East 45

WALES – Rowan Counsell scored 20 points and Megan Gruber added 10 as the Blue Dukes outlasted the Patriots at the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic.

Torie Neubauer led Appleton East with 18 points.

Whitefish Bay took a 27-26 halftime advantage and held off the Patriots from there.

DENMARK – Kiarrah Micolichek scored 17 points and Allie VanVonderen added 15 as the Vikings built a big lead early and cruised to the nonconference win.

Denmark raced out to a 43-10 halftime advantage and added to that lead in the final 18 minutes.

Alanah Kaye paced the Eagles with eight points.

NEW LONDON – Callie Kurczek poured in 24 points as Berlin built a big early lead and cruised to the nonconference win.

Lakelyn Sobieski added 13 points for Berlin.

Shaye Allen paced the Bulldogs with 11 points, while Caitlin Stroesenreuther added 10.

RHINELANDER – The Wildcats struggled from beyond the arc, making just 3-of-16 on 3-point attempts, in the loss to the Cardinals in the Tom Kislow Invite.

Eva Brooks led Lena with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Madilyn Thomson added 10 points.

Hortonville 85, Lourdes Academy 40

OSHKOSH – The Polar Bears overwhelmed the Knights in the first half, building a 36-point lead en route to the win in the Steven Randall Memorial Classic at Oshkosh West.

Riley Mueller led Hortonville with 25 points. Ethan Jolling scored 22.

Braden Studinski led Lourdes Academy with 10 points.

Peshtigo 70, Coleman 50

MARINETTE – The Bulldogs built a 36-16 halftime lead en route to the win over the Cougars.

Peshtigo built a double-digit lead with about eight minutes left in the first half and closed the half with a 16-6 run.

Peshtigo then opened the second half with a 15-5 run and Coleman was unable to close the gap.

BOYS HOCKEY

St. Mary’s Springs 5, De Pere 0

DELAFIELD – Austin Westergaard and Tate Baker scored two goals apiece as the Ledgers cruised past the Voyageurs.

Armani Fisher added a power-play goal, while Gabe Braun added four assists, and Baker and Preston Flood one each.

Springs led 1-0 after one and 3-0 after two, and outshot De Pere 35-22.

Keegan Handrick had 30 saves for De Pere, while Memphis Young had 22 for Springs.
