BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Kimberly 3, Neenah 1

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers advanced to the sectional final with a 19-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-19 victory over the Rockets in the sectional semifinal.

Michael Janssen had 13 kills and five blocks for Kimberly. Owen Krause had 13 kills and three aces. Blake Zielinski led the way with 51 assists.

Other leaders for the Papermakers were Jack Hruzek with 19 digs, Tyler Haase with nine kills, Nick Sroda with nine kills and Alex Krause with eight kills.

Neenah was led by Miles Weaver with 10 kills and seven digs, Ben Donaldson with eight kills and three blocks, and Cam Diekfuss with 24 assists.

The Rockets finish the season with a 20-14 record.

“I am so proud of how our group came out with energy from the start. We knew Kimberly would respond with how talented they are, but there was never any quit from our group. Our three seniors of Miles Weaver, Julian Kuehn and Ben Donaldson should be proud of all they accomplished this year,” Neenah coach Jake Coenen said.

Kimberly will play Appleton North in the sectional final Saturday at 7 p.m. at Appleton North.

Appleton North 3, Fond du Lac 1

FOND DU LAC – The Lightning advanced to the sectional final with a 25-18, 23-25, 31-29, 25-23 victory over the Cardinals.

Nathan Ramus had 31 kills for North. Owen Tierney added 10 kills, while Charlie Fanning and Sam Kuehl each had five kills.
