Division 1

Bay Port Sectional

HOBART – Bay Port won the team title and Kaukauna finished second to both advance their teams to the state tournament.

Bay Port finished with a 335, while Kaukauna shot 348.

Isabel Johnsen shot the low round for Bay Port with a 78 to finish second. Charlie Clinefelter shot the low round for Kaukauna with an 80 to finish fifth.

Talia Schlindwein of Wausau East/West was the medalist with a 77 to advance to state as an individual. Emma Cunningham of Green Bay Preble co-op shot 78 and Taylor LeMire of Appleton North shot 80 to also advance to state.

Seymour Sectional

SEYMOUR – Freedom won the sectional title with a 400 and Seymour also advanced to state.

Kay Lee McClintock shot 92 and finished second overall to lead Freedom.

Seymour and Marinette tied for second place with 403 scores, but Seymour earned the trip to state by winning a playoff.

Aubrey Molaison of Lake Country Lutheran was the individual medalist with an 86. Taylor Miller of Oconto Falls and Regan Hermanson of Marinette both shot 92 to tie for second and also advance to state as individuals.

The Neenah Rockets tallied 18 points and advanced their entire squad to Thursday’s Oshkosh West sectional at Fox Cities Racquet Club in Grand Chute, while Xavier also scored 18 points advanced two players in singles competition and two doubles teams.

APPLETON – The Terrrors defeated the Ghosts 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 25-15 in a Fox Valley Association match.

Maverick Kelderman had a double-double for Kaukauna with 20 digs and a team-leading 11 kills. Brody Ritchie and Brady Mayer both had 26 digs for the Ghosts. Nolan Laflen had 18 assists and Sam Hussin had 15 assists.

Kimberly 3, Green Bay Notre Dame 0

KIMBERLY – The Papermakers stayed perfect within the conference as they rolled past the Tritons 25-13, 25-14, 25-12.

Leading the way for Kimberly were Owen Krause with nine kills and two aces, Tyler Haase with 10 kills and three aces, Jack Hruzek with 11 digs and three aces, Blake Zielinski with 35 assists, Sean Welsh with six kills and Joshua Blondin with five digs.

Kimberly is now 5-0 in the Fox Valley Association and 29-5 overall.

Appleton North 3, Neenah 0

APPLETON – Nathan Ramus had 26 kills as the Lightning swept the Rockets 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 in a Fox Valley Association match.

Owen Tierney and Sam Kuehl added seven and four kills, respectively, for North. Landon Kue had 14 digs.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Kaukauna 3, Appleton North 2

KAUKAUNA – The Ghosts defeated the Lightning 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 16-25, 15-8 in a Fox Valley Association matchup.

Madison Tripp had 27 assists and 15 digs for Kaukauna. Boe Kaschner had 17 digs. and seven aces. Hailey Kobussen had 11 kills and seven digs. Brenna Matthies had eight digs. Nyan Dvorak had nine digs, while Delaney Ward and Claire Gerrits both had eight kills.

Appleton North was led by Teegan Charapata’s 24 kills and 15 digs. Chloe North had 21 digs, while Lydia Koshuta and Hannah Moua had 20 and 19 assists, respectively. Kayden Lamon added 11 kills for the Lightning.

“Kaukauna is a great team and we pushed them as far as we could,” North coach Steve Scheuerell said. ”We continue to fight with everything we have each and every point.”

Kimberly 3, Fond du Lac 1

FOND DU LAC – The Papermakers defeated the Cardinals 21-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-16 in a Fox Valley Association matchup.

“Both sides fought hard to get the win tonight,” Kimberly coach Sam D’Aquisto said. “I am so proud of our girls and the perseverance they showed.”

Ava Van Hammond led Kimberly with 24 assists. Ava Van Vonderen had 19 kills, while Ava Reis had 18. Ava Van Camp had 29 digs.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Clintonville 0

APPLETON – The Foxes controlled the match from the start as they cruised to the 25-12, 25-7, 25-10 win in North Eastern Conference play.

Leading the way for Fox Valley Lutheran were Sophia Wunderlich with eight kills, Ellie Hayes with six kills, Hannah Uhlenbrauck with six kills, Hannah Draeger with six kills, Greta Nolte with five kills, and Ava Patchett with 14 assists, four aces and four digs. Molly Bixby added two kills, 15 assists, two aces and 10 digs, and Riley Schmitz had seven aces, eight assists and 17 digs.

Freedom 3, Oconto Falls 0

FREEDOM – The Irish swept the Panthers 25-15, 25-20, 25-21 in a North Eastern Conference match.

Izzy Otto had 25 assists and 15 digs for Oconto Falls. Lucy Ripley had 14 kills. Rylie Shallow had 20 digs.

Luxemburg-Casco 3, Waupaca 0

LUXEMBURG – The Spartans started fast and cruised to the 25-10, 25-21, 25-18 win in North Eastern Conference action.

Leading the way for Luxemburg-Casco were Alayna Deprez with 27 assists and 15 digs, Aubrey Frey with 14 kills, 11 digs and three aces, Claire Schleis with six kills, Cami Onell with five kills, Ella Vander Velden with five kills and Rylan Kaminski with 16 digs.

“I was really happy with the way we came out of the gates tonight,” Luxemburg-Casco coach Jeffrey Frey said. “We played with a lot of energy and passion throughout the entire match. It’s always great to get a win on Senior Night, to be able to honor them for all the hard work, commitment and dedication they have given to our program.”

The win moves the Spartans to 20-7 overall and 7-1 in the conference.

Manitowoc Lutheran 3, St. Mary Catholic 2

MANITOWOC – Despite a valiant comeback effort by SMC, the Lancers outlasted the Zephyrs 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 15-7 in Big East Conference action.

Leading the way for St. Mary Catholic were Eliana Brenn with 15 kills, Autumn Crowe with nine kills and 10 digs, Ava Rankin with 20 digs and Sammi Weiss with 18 assists.

The Zephyrs finished 5-1 in the Big East Conference Red Division, second behind 6-0 Manitowoc Lutheran.

BOYS SOCCER

Kimberly 2, Oshkosh West 0

KIMBERLY – Andrew Walters scored at 13:26 of the first half off an assist from Tyler Cruse, and Owen Weider added another at the 44:28 mark of the second half as the Papermakers outlasted the Wildcats in Fox Valley Association action.

“We possessed the majority of the ball,” Kimberly coach Carl Gardner said. “We also had great rhythm moving the ball.”

Kimberly goalkeeper Noah Sommer had seven saves to earn the shutout.

The Papermakers outshot Oshkosh West 9-4.

Fox Valley Lutheran 2, Luxemburg-Casco 0

LUXEMBURG – Kaleb Williams and Austin Zanto scored goals as the Foxes downed the Spartans in North Eastern Conference action.

Ian Luehring and Joonyoung Hong added assists for the Foxes.

The game was scoreless at the half before FVL took control.

Keaton Enter made one save in net for the Foxes.
