Are the Denver Nuggets still a contender?
Are the Denver Nuggets still a contender for the NBA’s 2025 championship? With a number of injuries adding to the pinch of letting talented teammates walk in free agency, the Nuggets now find themselves in the Western Conference’s ninth-place spot at the time of writing. On one hand, we are not expecting a team that is currently in range for the play-in tournament a quarter way through the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
But on the other hand, the Nuggets have star big man Nikola Jokic on their team as he plays a better start to the season on the offensive end of the court as perhaps any player in the history of the league. Hall of Fame Boston Celtics alumni Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett recently weighed in on the question on an episode of the Showtime Basketball “Ticket and the Truth” podcast.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about whether the Nugs can still contend for a title this season.
