In his first few years in Arizona, the tight end has become a fan favorite.

A Colorado native, McBride grew up as an all-around athlete. He competed in baseball, basketball, and football. He still holds his high school records for points scored in basketball, as well as career home runs and runs batted in for baseball.

McBride went on to play college football at Colorado State. During his time in Fort Collins, he earned Academic All-Mountain West Conference and Academic All-Colorado his freshman year. On the field, he was named first team All-Mountain West twice, received an invitation to the Senior Bowl, and was awarded The John Mackey Award, presented annually to college football’s most outstanding tight end. He became the first player in Colorado State football history to be named a unanimous All-American.

The Cardinals selected McBride in the second round with the 55th overall pick in the 2022 draft.

He had a breakout sophomore season, finishing the year seventh in receiving yards for tight ends and fifth in receptions.
