Artist creates mural for Marquette fashion boutique
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A Marquette boutique is expressing itself through the work of a new mural.
Artist Belle Lagrou said the mural embodies Cove Boutique. The store curates high-quality and inclusive women’s fashion. She plans to free-hand the mural with outdoor paint and chalk.
She said she wanted to reflect the store’s dainty and ornamental personality with the pink and gold mural.
“Marquette is increasingly becoming this artistic hub for expression, and you can see that on so many businesses here,” Lagrou said.
Lagrou shared a Pinterest board with Cove’s owner to share ideas. Initial drawing plans were a moody blue, and they decided on a feathery theme. She hopes to finish the mural in one day.
“So many artists in this area and creative energy, so I think that everyone will appreciate a work of art outside of any shop or space,” Cove Boutique Owner Jordan Mattarella said.
