Athlon Sports names seven IU football players to preseason All-Big Ten squads

Athlon Sports has posted their preseason All-Big Ten teams, including a first, second, third and fourth team of projected top performers in the 2024 edition of the conference.

With 18 teams in the league, earning all-conference honors is more challenging than ever.

Here are the IU football players in Athlon Sports’ full preseason All-Big Ten selections:

——————————————————-

THIRD TEAM —

WR – Donaven McCulley

McCulley caught 48 passes for 644 yards and six TDs and was selected honorable mention All-Big Ten by the conference coaches and media panel at wide receiver in 2023.

OL – Nick Kidwell

A James Madison transfer, Kidwell was on the 2023 Outland Trophy preseason watch list in 2023 before suffering a week four injury.

P – James Evans

With a punting average of 45.8 yards per punt, Evans set the Indiana single season record by one yard per punt and earned third-team All-Big Ten by the media.

FOURTH TEAM —

WR – Elijah Sarratt

Sarratt was named first-team all-Sun Belt Conference after catching a team-high 82 passes for 1,191 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore in 2023.  He had over 100 receiving yards in five contests.

TE – Zach Horton

Horton contributed 266 yards receiving and six touchdowns for JMU in 2023. He earned a spot on the All-Sun Belt First Team Offense.

DL – Mikail Kamara

Kamara was a disruptive force for JMU on the edge in 2023, with 17.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, five QB hits, and three forced fumbles. He was second team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2023.

LB – Aiden Fisher

Fisher was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team last year after leading the Dukes in total tackles (91) and an interception. Fisher had six tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, five QB hits and a blocked kick.
