Auto supplier announces new operation in Pickens Co., promises 115 new jobs

EASLEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – ElringKlinger, a global automotive supplier, announced Monday that it selected Pickens County to establish the company’s first South Carolina operation.

The company invested $40.3 million in the new operation. ElringKlinger said the operation will provide 115 new jobs in Pickens County.

Though ElringKlinger is headquartered in Germany, it operates 44 manufacturing sites worldwide. ElringKlinger focuses on the electrification of mobility and the advancement of the hydrogen economy.

The new 226,000-square-foot ElringKlinger facility, located on 3800 Calhoun Memorial Highway in Easley, will manufacture electric battery cell contacting systems.

“ElringKlinger’s decision to establish its first South Carolina operation is further proof that the automotive industry continues to drive our state’s economy forward,” said Gov. Henry McMaster. “The company’s new facility in Pickens County, along with the 115 new jobs it creates, will greatly benefit our state and citizens for years to come.”

ElringKlinger said operations are expected to begin in mid-2025.
