Automotive supplier manufacturer to bring hundreds of jobs to Mesa

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — North America’s largest automotive supplier is building a new manufacturing facility in Arizona, which is slated to bring hundreds of jobs to the East Valley

In a joint news release, Magna, a mobility technology company and an automotive supplier, announced plans to create a manufacturing facility in Mesa at the Power Industrial Park, located near Power & Pecos roads.

“The accelerating pace of innovation is fueling growing demand for new products and technologies, and companies like Magna are leading the way,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “Mesa’s strategic investments in education, infrastructure and world-class amenities make us a premier destination for businesses looking to thrive in this dynamic industry. Magna will be a great addition to Mesa, and I am excited to welcome them to our city.”

Details surrounding how soon the new site will be built and when it will reopen haven’t been released, but state and local officials say it’s a major multi-million dollar investment that highlights Arizona’s growing impact on the automotive industry.

Magma previously built the Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV at its Graz, Austria facility in 2023, according to InsideEVs.

“Magna’s arrival in Mesa bolsters an already adept regional ecosystem,” said Chris Camacho, President and CEO of Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “As Greater Phoenix continues to drive clean technology innovation at a national scale, Magna’s new facility will allow for more expansive growth in the emerging automotive sector.”

The facility will have state-of-the-art tech and virtual tools to ensure quality and flexibility in the creation of new products.
