Aviation company opening facility in NKY, creating hundreds of jobs

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WXIX) – L2 Aviation announced its first Kentucky location with a new production facility in Boone County on Thursday.

This operation is an over $12 million investment and will create 250 jobs for Kentuckians, according to Governor Andy Beshear.

It is expected to be operational in 2025, but in the meantime, L2 Aviation will utilize an existing office, production facility, and hangar at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

L2 Aviation is a Texas-based aviation electronics design, manufacturing, and engineering company founded in 1997 by Mark Lebovitz.(L2 Aviation)

“Our aviation and aerospace sector has seen tremendous growth in recent years,” Gov. Beshear stated. “And this investment from L2 Aviation will not only add to that but, more importantly, it will bring hundreds of job opportunities to the Northern Kentucky region.”

Aviation maintenance and aerospace are two strong industry sectors in Northern Kentucky due to the growth of cargo and passenger operations at CVG, according to BE-NKY CEO Lee Crume.

“We actively collaborate with the CVG team to bring maintenance and repair operations, manufacturing, and aviation support projects to the Cincinnati region,” Crume explained. “With CVG’s successful expansion of passenger and cargo service, there is a tremendous opportunity to bring new companies and high-potential careers to Northern Kentucky.”

L2 Aviation’s investment and job creation builds on the best four-year period for economic growth in state history.
