Badcock Home Furniture going out of business, closing all stores including Savannah’s
Badcock furniture, started in Mulberry in 1904, is closing all stores
Badcock was started in Mulberry, Florida, in 1904. The company, owned since December 2023 by Conn’s HomePlus, is shuttering all of its stores.
While some chains have been undergoing partial closures, at least one is going completely out of business.
Badcock Home Furniture & More, a retail chain with more than 300 stores in its portfolio, is closing all of its doors. This comes seven months after it was acquired by Conn’s HomePlus, which has filed for bankruptcy. More than 70 stores under the Conn’s brand will also be closing.
Badcock stores will remain open until about Oct. 31 for liquidation sales. There are two stores in Savannah, another in Pooler, and another in Rincon.
Conn’s said in its fourth quarter earnings call in April that total revenue was down 7.8% year over year and that the company posted a net loss of nearly $77 million for the year.
