Battlefield 2042 is getting a badass Dead Space crossover event
Dead Space’s Necromorphs swarm into Battlefield 2042 next week
Dead Space might be on hiatus at the moment, but fans can get their Necromorph fix for a limited time in Battlefield 2042 from next week, EA has announced. The new game mode, Outbreak, tasks squads with surviving hordes of Necromorphs as they attempt to extract from the Boreas Laboratory.
While the mode will only be available for a short time, there are some treats to unlock and keep, such as a new weapon charm, skin, player card background, and tag. During this time, a new bundle will also hit the in-game store for 2,200 Battlefield Credits and includes a legendary “Marked Man” specialist outfit, three weapon skins, and more.
The mode comes as part of Battlefield 2042 Season 7: Turning Point, which will be the game’s final season as all teams focus on the upcoming Battlefield games.
Last year, following the successful launch of the Dead Space remake, EA reportedly asked fans if they would want Dead Space 2 and 3 remakes as well, last year. Perhaps Dead Space is now on hiatus, however, as Motive Studio is developing a new Iron Man game and helping with the future of Battlefield.
In other Battlefield news, three Xbox 360 Battlefield games are facing server closures this year, and Battlefield 3 will be delisted.
