CHICAGO — Left guard Teven Jenkins and receiver/return man DeAndre Carter were both designated as questionable to face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Soldier Field. Both guys will be available in this Week 5 contest, recovering well enough from bruised ribs to make an impact in this one.
That’s a positive development on offense and special teams.
Carter has been a solid returner this season and a capable reserve receiver who filled in well when Keenan Allen was out.
Having Jenkins available makes the Bears better at two spots, allowing Matt Pryor to remain at right guard over moving to the left side, as he did when Jenkins left in Week 4 and didn’t return.

There weren’t many surprises on the inactives list, especially on a team that has been relatively healthy to this point. Fullback Khari Blasingame is a healthy scratch, as are Velus Jones Jr. and Dominique Robinson. Zacch Pickens and Terrell Smith were ruled out on Friday’s injury report.
Here’s the full list of Bears inactives:
- RB/WR Velus Jones Jr.
- FB Khari Blasingame
- DT Zacch Pickens
- DL Dominique Robinson
- DB Terrell Smith
