Advice and prediction
The Bears and Texans will play for the first time since Sept. 2022, where Chicago got the win in head coach Matt Eberflus’ first season. But, historically, Chicago has struggled when playing in Houston, as they’ve gone 0-2 in both road meetings. Meanwhile, the Bears have a brutal streak on Sunday Night Football, where they’ve lost their last seven matchups.
The Texans are 6.5-point home favorites against a Bears offense that was held without a touchdown in their season opener. Houston is a team that many have pegged as Super Bowl contenders while Chicago is looking to make their first playoff appearance since 2020. Barring another dominant showing from the Bears defense, the Texans should cover at 6.5.
The over/under is tricky at 45.5. While both Chicago and Houston put up nearly 30 points in their season openers, this could be a big game for two impressive defenses. The Bears defense allowed 17 points to the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, but they held them scoreless in the second half. Meanwhile, the Texans gave up 27 points to the Indianapolis Colts in their opener. But they’ll be facing a Chicago offense that failed to score a touchdown in Week 1.
Prediction: Texans 24, Bears 17
