Beaverton police shoot and kill a person outside shopping center

Beaverton police shot and killed a man Monday night outside Nordstrom Rack on Southwest Cascade Avenue, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Police were called just before 8 p.m. on a report of a theft at the store. Employees said they saw a man stealing merchandise.

The man was leaving the store when two Beaverton police officers were walking up to it.

Police said the man pulled out a handgun. There was a struggle between the officers and the man, and police said he fired his handgun.

Police shot the man, who died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office identified the man as 39-year-old Jacob Daniel Bundy, of Portland.

Police said Bundy’s gun and the motorcycle he rode were reported stolen.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
