Behind the Business: Retail Therapy Boutique

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A brand-new shopping boutique is open in Twin Falls, providing people with a new place to check out the latest fashion trends.

This week’s Behind the Business brings us to Retail Therapy Boutique.

Shopping can sometimes feel like therapy for people, and for best friends and now business partners Shay and Bailey, that’s their goal for the newly opened Retail Therapy Boutique.

“It’s literally like a dream job that you get to come to work with your best friend, and so we try to make a great environment for people that they leave with a friend when they come in, so it fits us perfectly,” said Bailey Thompson, the co-owner.

Both Shay Reeves and Bailey Thompson have been in the boutique and fashion industry for years and decided they wanted to open their own store. They found the location for their store on Main Ave. in Twin Falls back in November and opened up on June 28.

“We wanted to bring in some trendy items, something that you aren’t going to find everywhere, so we worked really hard going to different markets to find stuff that you didn’t see anywhere else,” said Shay Reeves, the co-owner.

Another goal for them was to make it size-inclusive as well. The store features sizes small to 3-X as well as some other unique options for people.

“We have a make-your-own graphic wall which is something you are not going to find, so you come in you pick out your size and your graphic or sweatshirt, we press it for you, we have our hat bar as well so you come in pick out your patches, we press it for you,” said Reeves.

They just hope to bring a new shopping option for people, in an upbeat way. Their entire goal for the store is for people to feel uplifted when they walk through their doors.

“I think we bring a lot to the area, there is not a whole ton of shopping in Twin Falls, especially for those trendy items that you usually find online, and so we are bringing that to the community that you aren’t finding here, we already have a following. People know us for who we are, we talk a lot about mental health, we think it’s super important, so we kind of create this space where women can come in when they are having a rough day, and get a little bit of retail therapy,” said Thompson.

Retail Therapy is located at 160 Main Ave South Suite 101 in Twin Falls. They are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
