Behind the Business: Tiger Zone

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A family fun center in Jerome is bringing bowling, arcade games, and delicious food to people in the Magic Valley. This week’s Behind the Business brings us to Tiger Zone.

At 159 West Avenue A in Jerome sits Tiger Zone, featuring bowling, an arcade, and delicious food.

The location has been a bowling alley for a long time, but about 2 and a half years ago, Kevin and Dawn Higley bought the building and remodeled it.

“They started on remodeling it, making it a little bit more family-friendly, family fun zone, and then we opened in August of last year,” said Rebecca Higley, who works at Tiger Zone.

They have eight bowling lanes, a spacious arcade which is a way to earn tickets for some cool prizes, and a delicious menu featuring burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, nachos, and more.

“We’ve had a lot of people come in regularly with their kids every week, we have school programs, we’ve had a special needs league going on right now, we have company parties, group parties, a lot of the people here in Jerome, it’s their first time coming in here, they didn’t know we were here, they say wow we love it, it’s something to do,” said Higley.

Jaclynn Vargas works at Tiger Zone and started the special needs league.

She says she saw a need for something like this in the Jerome area, and the community agreed.

The special needs league meets on Thursdays at 11.

“I brought it up for my brother, he’s down syndrome, and he doesn’t have anything to do over the summer. When I brought it up to the community, there was a really big need for this, it’s not just a want. It’s getting these people out of their homes for an hour at least once a week, they got to come in and bowl for an hour for free because we’ve got so many great sponsors,” said Vargas.

The main goal is for kids and adults alike to have something fun to do in the community and to provide somewhere for kids and families to go and enjoy being together.

“Anybody of all ages can come in and have fun, anything, they have disabilities, I mean really they have ramps, they have everything that is needed,” said Vargas.

Tiger Zone is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

They strongly recommend booking a lane online or by giving them a call at 208-324-5292.
