Bella Hadid Influenced Me to Add These Controversial Jeans to My Shopping Cart
Whether she’s in Texas or New York City, Bella Hadid is sure to bring her western wardrobe along for the ride. She put a cosmopolitan spin on the cowgirl trend earlier this week, when she was spotted for a day out in Los Angeles. The supermodel looked ultra chic in a lightweight black cashmere top from Intimissimi layered underneath a fitted biker leather jacket.
The bottom half of her look is where she included some subtle hints of cowgirl. She wore a pair of low-rise bootcut jeans in a faded black wash, cinched at the waist by a thin black leather belt. While bootcut might have once fallen out of fashion, the outdoorsy style is slowly making its way back on the trend cycle, gaining favor with other celebrities like Alexa Chung and Kaia Gerber.
To finish off the look, Hadid added a few more black accents, including yellow-tinted and black-rimmed sunglasses, black square-toe boots, and a black checkered tote bag made out of upcycled leather from Coachtopia.
Coachtopia, a sub-brand of Coach, focuses on sustainably making bags by composing new products from scraps left over on the cutting-room floor.
“We asked ourselves: how can we use waste materials to create beautiful things,” Joon Silverstein, head of Coachtopia and vice president of Coach, previously told Harper’s Bazaar. “It was really a process of designing backwards: starting with materials that already exist and harnessing our leathercraft expertise and creativity to transform waste into valuable new materials.”
Hadid repped another Coach offering—the slouchy Brooklyn bag—this past summer. She has been seen carrying the tote in both the brown suede and black leather styles.
