From Berks Business Education Coalition
After years of dedicated service and leadership, John P. Weidenhammer has announced he is stepping down as Chair of the Berks Business Education Coalition (BBEC). Under John’s stewardship, BBEC has strengthened its mission of bridging the gap between education and business in Berks County, enhancing opportunities for local students, and creating a more connected community. The coalition’s Executive Board is pleased to announce that David W. Patti, a respected community leader and executive at Customers Bank, will assume the role of John’s successor.
Weidenhammer has led BBEC with a focus on cultivating relationships with educational institutions and the business community to prepare the local workforce for the evolving demands of industry. His contributions have left an indelible mark on both BBEC and the broader Berks County community, solidifying partnerships that will impact students for generations to come.
Patti brings to the role decades of experience in the business community and a passion for education and workforce development. He has been an active participant in BBEC’s initiatives and is committed to advancing the coalition’s mission. He was appointed by five Pennsylvania governors to serve on education and workforce panels, is an officer of a statewide policy research organization on children’s issues and education, and is a Trustee of Alvernia University. In his role at Customers Bank, Patti has been a strong advocate for business and education collaboration.
“We are grateful for John’s visionary leadership and tireless work in creating pathways to success for students and businesses alike,” said Terri Hill, Executive Director of the BBEC. “We are excited to welcome Dave Patti, whose expertise and commitment to education and workforce readiness align perfectly with BBEC’s goals. We are confident that Dave will continue to expand our reach and impact in the community.”
The transition is effective in January.
