Roller derby for Friends of the Poor
The Electric City Shockers face the Diamond City Mayhem at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Roller Derby Factory, 4949 Birney Ave., Moosic, Saturday at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 and free for children under 12. Ten percent of door sales will be donated to Friends of the Poor. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Roller Derby will also accept nonperishable food and canned goods to donate to Friends of the Poor. It is BYOB for ages 21 plus, but no glass containers. Bring a chair. Cash and Venmo are the only forms of payment. Concessions will be available.
Scranton Santa Parade
The Grinch is the honorary grand marshal for the Scranton Santa Parade on Saturday at 9 a.m. The route begins at Biden Street and Franklin Avenue, goes down Biden Street, takes a left on North Washington Avenue and ends on Adams Avenue, after circling Courthouse Square.
Santa Parade in Wilkes-Barre
The Wilkes-Barre Santa Parade and tree lighting are Saturday, with the parade stepping off at 3 p.m. The route starts at South and South Main streets and ends in Public Square.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings the the Lost Christmas Eve tour to Mohegan Arena on Sunday. Shows are at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets begin at $50, plus fees, available at the box office, or online at moheganarenapa.com/trans-siberian-orchestra-info or ticketmaster.com. The arena is located at 255 Highland Park Blvd, Wilkes-Barre Twp. Check the website for bag restrictions.
