Beverly Small Business Saturday, Downtown Winter Market
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Main Streets is encouraging residents and visitors to shop the city’s downtown businesses this holiday season starting with Small Business Saturday this weekend and including a two-day Downtown Winter Market on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
“The top way to support our local small businesses this holiday season is, of course, to buy direct from them,” Beverly Main Streets said. “This helps your dollars stay within the local community, where it is often re-invested locally three-to-six times — a huge economic impact for our city.”
In the event that Beverly small businesses do not carry the exact item you are looking for or online sales are too good to pass up, Beverly Main Streets offered other ways to support the city’s friends and neighbors this holiday season.
Leave a Positive Google Review
“Just a few sentences about a business, whether you’ve made a purchase there or not, can be so helpful in the age of online reviews. Perhaps you love what a store brings to the downtown, or you love the kind staff at a local bar or restaurant. Taking a few minutes to boost these businesses
online is a great way to support them.”
Follow & Interact with Them on Social Media
“Most businesses have social media accounts these days on Facebook and/or Instagram. If you’re a social media user, consider following these business accounts and interacting with their content. Like a photo, leave a kind comment, or share to your own stories to spread the word about a business you like.”
Subscribe to an Email List
“Maybe you’re not ready to make a purchase now, but still want to support the business and keep tabs on what they have going on. Try subscribing to their newsletter — most retailers, restaurants, and service industry businesses (salons, etc) have email lists you can subscribe to.”
Beverly Main Streets is also hosting the Downtown Winter Market with two days of strolling, local shopping, live music, food and drinks, and entertainment specials on Cabot Street on Dec. 13 and Rantoul Street on Dec. 14.
The Winter Market will include at least 10 mini-art markets and a growing list of business specials, events and discounts that can be found here.
Beverly Main Streets is seeking 20 to 30 volunteers who would be stationed at key intersections and hand out event maps as well as holiday goodies to anyone wishing to partake.
Beverly Main Streets will provide volunteers with hand warmers and they are encouraged to wear festive holiday gear.
Those looking to volunteer can fill out this form and Beverly Main Streets will follow up with more details.
