BFC Announces NEW WAVE Nominees for 2024 Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced its 2024 NEW WAVE: Creatives, spotlighting 50 of the most innovative young talents shaping the future of fashion. This dynamic list highlights individuals from various creative disciplines, including casting directors, photographers, art directors, hair and makeup artists, stylists, set designers, and image makers. The selected trailblazers will be honored at The Fashion Awards 2024, presented by Pandora, on December 2nd at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Organized by the BFC, The Fashion Awards serve as the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, celebrating fashion’s role at the intersection of culture and entertainment. Through these awards, the BFC not only showcases creative talent but also emphasizes purpose and excellence. The event narrates the year in fashion through innovation and artistic exploration, shedding light on the individuals working both on and off the runway.

Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, described the NEW WAVE: Creatives platform as essential in recognizing talent beyond traditional design roles. “These emerging artists are redefining creativity across disciplines and transforming the way fashion is experienced globally,” she shared. The 2024 cohort introduces a generation of artists whose fresh perspectives are propelling the industry’s evolution, with the BFC eager to celebrate their impact this December.



The NEW WAVE: Creatives list not only celebrates talent but also functions as a vital resource for creative teams in the fashion industry. The BFC’s initiatives engage alumni in diverse projects, such as Julie Lie’s design of the 2023 TFA trophy and Derrick Ofosu Boateng’s photography for the Winner’s Room. These collaborations underscore the BFC’s commitment to supporting emerging talents across multiple platforms.

London’s reputation as a global hub for creativity shines through the NEW WAVE: Creatives initiative. The 2024 recipients will benefit from consistent social media promotion throughout the year via the BFC’s digital channels, ensuring their work reaches wider audiences. The selection process for this year’s list began in July, with the 2023 NEW WAVE: Creatives community helping to shape the outcome. A distinguished panel of industry leaders—including photographer Nick Knight, DAZED Editor-in-Chief Ib Kamara, and designer Robert Wun—curated the final 50 names. This collaborative process reflects the spirit of mutual support within the industry, ensuring that the NEW WAVE: Creatives platform continues to highlight the freshest and most forward-thinking talents.
