Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix set for major redevelopment

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The redevelopment plans for the Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix were unveiled on Monday.

New additions include a lineup of new shops, including Warby Parker, Apex Tailoring, and PILLAR, which are set to open in the coming months. Plans also include new residential offerings, upscale hotels, and state-of-the-art office space on 24th Street and Camelback Road.

“It is a tremendous honor to be entrusted with a destination as iconic to Arizona as Biltmore Fashion Park,” said Mike Ebert, managing partner at RED Development, the commercial real estate company that purchased the mall. “This special property holds great significance for us as a local company, and we are committed to preserving its storied history while expanding its offerings to ensure it remains a dynamic center for generations to come.”

The Biltmore Fashion Park was Arizona’s first luxury outdoor shopping and dining destination. Opening in 1963, it was considered the city’s crown jewel due to its unmatched ambiance.

According to RED, the redevelopment plans to bring the fashion park back to its roots with a “modern twist on mid-century design.”

The mall was originally designed by Welton Becket and Associates and built by the Chanen Construction Company. The Saks Fifth Avenue was reportedly made of stone walls native to the region and concrete Native American hieroglyphics.
