Birmingham Open for Business grant program awards thousands of dollars in 2024

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – In 2024, REV Birmingham partnered with the PNC Foundation for the Birmingham Open for Business grant program.

The program awarded more than $809,000 to dozens of entrepreneurs in three separate stages.

The open stage focused on businesses in their early stages. The growth stage helped entrepreneurs expand on more established businesses. The open stage helped with moving into a brick-and-mortar space.

“It’s an opportunity for our local business to actually have access to capital resources that maybe they would not,” said Client Relationship Manager at REV, Mary Walton.

The hope is to build and retain jobs in the Magic City and help establish small businesses.

“We want to make sure our businesses are continuing to grow and they are able to sustain their operations here in Birmingham and we are seeing many of our businesses are able to do that,” said Walton.
