Bizee LLC and business formation review 2024

When it comes to officially registering your business, you can choose the do-it-yourself approach or you can pay for a formation service to handle all the hard work for you. Bizee is one of the more well-known business formation services, and it offers three packages tailored to help budding entrepreneurs get their businesses up and running.

Bizee is a business formation service that helps customers file paperwork to register legally as an LLC, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, or nonprofit.

To get started, go to Bizee’s website where you’ll select which entity you want to form — LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp or nonprofit — and the state where the business will be registered. The state you choose can affect pricing since each state has its own fee for registering businesses.

From there, you can view pricing for the three different packages and select the one that works best for you.

Then you’ll choose your business’s name. If you don’t already have one, you can use Bizee’s name generator to see some suggestions.

Next, you’ll select your preferred filing time. You can pay an additional fee of $50 to have everything wrapped up in one business day, or you can choose the standard three weeks for free. You’ll then be instructed to fill out your contact information and some basic information about your business.

Bizee offers several features across all three packages — even the most Basic pricing plan comes equipped with access to an online dashboard, business banking account access, a business tax consultation and more. Northwest Registered Agent, by contrast, is more of a bare-bones service. It offers business registration filing, domain, website and business email offerings, EIN service and compliance and Registered Agent services.

Northwest also offers a simpler pricing structure — registering your business costs $39, plus applicable state fees. However, Northwest doesn’t offer business tax services or business banking services. So while Northwest can be more affordable than Bizee, there are some types of services you won’t be able to access through Northwest.

Both companies offer Registered Agent service for free for one year, after which you pay $119 a year for Bizee and $125 a year for Northwest.

Unlike Bizee, FileNow only offers two pricing plans: Starter and Premium. FileNow’s Starter plan costs $49 plus the state fee and the Premium plan costs $199 plus the state fee. Both Bizee’s Basic plan and FileNow’s Starter plan will file your articles of organization, but FileNow will also include unlimited phone and email support.

Another important difference is that while both FileNow and Bizee offer the first year of its Registered Agent service for free, FileNow locks this behind its more expensive Premium plan (with Bizee, you get this free year with any plan so long as you register your business through the company).

Finally, FileNow doesn’t have an option to register your business as a non-profit. Its only filing options are for LLCs, S-Corps and C-Corps. This makes Bizee the obvious choice between the two if you are starting a nonprofit.

So although FileNow offers fewer packages to choose from, unlimited live customer support is included regardless of the package you choose. Depending on what you value the most in a business formation service, this can make any of FileNow’s trade-offs well worth it.
