BJCC gearing up for big entertainment acts in 2025

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – All of 2024 was a big year for entertainment in the Magic City.

The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) shared Wednesday that Legacy Arena was ranked as #53 in arenas worldwide for total ticket sales in 2024.

Just this week, there were some big announcements about major acts coming to Birmingham in 2025 like Mary J. Blige, Mario and Ne-Yo.

BJCC Executive Director Tad Snider says because they have a variety of venues, they can support a variety of artists like those just starting their touring journey all the way to some of the biggest names in music and entertainment.

He says often it depends who is on the road and when, but while Nashville is known for their country music and Atlanta is known for rap and hip hop, Snider says he wants artists in all genres to be attracted to Birmingham.

“We’ve seen success with multiple different types of artists and acts,” he explained. “Anywhere from the Eagles, and then Pink, and then also with comedians like Chris Rock, Dave Chappell, Kevin Hart — all sold out! Just seems to be that any act or the talent that’s doing well on their tour does well in Birmingham.”

The big news of 2025 is the Coca-Cola Amphitheater which is opening in June. Those first few shows include comedian Matt Rife and singer Thomas Rhett, who have tickets on sale now. Other big names like Nelly, Toto, and Jason Isbell have tickets going on sale Friday, Dec. 13.
