Black Business Month: Marky D’z

PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) – August is Black Business Month, and every Thursday this month, KALB is going to highlight a different Black-owned business in Cenla!

Marky D’z is a Black-owned food truck that is primarily located at the Front Yard Food Truck Park on Highway 28 East in Pineville.

They serve a variety of foods, full of flavor and love, but are known for their smash burgers, quesadillas and Philly cheese steaks.

Owner Mark Hogans started his dream business with an old school bus from down south in Jeanerette, Louisiana, and after months of hard work, almost two years ago, they opened the bus windows.

Though he is stationed in Pineville, he is not limited to the one area, due to his drive to roll out delicious food throughout Cenla.

Hogans said that this is only the beginning of his plans to continue to serve the Central Louisiana community.

“As long as there’s breath in my body, there’s a lot more to look forward to,” he said. “This is only a snippet of what’s running through my head. The nightmare was putting this thing together, the dream is now. This is it.”

Hogans said you can follow their Facebook page to keep up to date on deals and specials he said “you won’t get anywhere else.”

Stay tuned as KALB continues to highlight local Black-owned businesses every Thursday during August for Black Business Month!
