BLACKPINK’s ‘World Tour [Born Pink] In Cinemas’ Concert Film Coming to Screens Worldwide

A 92-minute concert film celebrating K-pop girl group BLACKPINK‘s eighth anniversary, BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS, is slated to hit screens worldwide on July 31. The movie from Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX will celebrate the highest-grossing tour from an Asian act and a female group in history in a variety of formats, including ScreenX, 4DX and ULTRA 4DX.

Tickets for the movie will go on sale beginning at 11 a.m. ET on June 27, with tickets going on sale in Korean beginning July 17. The movie directed by Yoondong Oh and Geun Min will chronicle the world tour that played to 1.8 million fans across the globe in support of BLACKPINK’s chart-topping 2022 sophomore album, BORN PINK. The film will premiere in more than 110 countries, which a release said will make it the largest-ever global cinema event release for a female group.

“We are delighted to collaborate once again with our longstanding partner, CJ 4DPlex, for the new BLACKPINK release,” said Trafalgar CEO Marc Allenby in a statement. “Since their debut, we have witnessed BLACKPINK’s exponential rise to become one of the biggest names in music with a massive global appeal. Cinemas are the perfect venue to harness the power of their dedicated fanbase, and we look forward to welcoming BLINKs from around the world to enjoy this unmissable theatrical event starting July 31.”

The movie will feature the tour’s iconic “Hanok” set — which mimicked the look of a traditional Korean house — with a release noting, “mesmerized fans and press worldwide… [showcasing] an unprecedented production scale, presenting exclusive versions of BLACKPINK’s hit songs unique to this concert. It includes performances from Seoul’s Gocheok Dome alongside footage from cities across the global tour.” The Born Pink tour criss-crossed the globe from Oct. 2022 through Sept. 2023.

“I am delighted to announce the release of BLACKPINK’s world tour film in theaters globally,” said DJ 4DPLEX CCO Jun Bang in a statement. “ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX are the optimal formats to capture the essence and liveliness of a concert. We eagerly anticipate immersing audiences in the spectacular performances of BLACKPINK, showcasing their talent as world-class touring artists, across cinemas worldwide.”
