BNA braces for busy holiday travel weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Nashville International Airport is bracing for a big travel weekend.

As travelers make their way back home or to their New Year’s destination, airport officials at BNA are encouraging people to arrive early and plan ahead.

A few ways to plan ahead before traveling to the airport include checking traffic and checking the status of your flight.

If travelers are planning to park at the airport, they can check how full the parking lots are at flynashville.com.

On Friday morning, security lines were steady, but as the day goes on, officials expect it to get busier.

Transportation Security Administration is projecting 40 million passengers to be screened nationwide through Jan. 2.

If you’re picking up someone from the airport, BNA has few options of where to wait including the free cell phone lot and or you can park for free for up to 30 minutes in the terminal garages.
