Bohemian fashion dates back over 200 years. With the trend re-emerging thanks to the runways of Chloé, Ralph Lauren and Saint Laurent in 2024, billowing silhouettes, intricate accents and bold patterns have once again swept the celebrity crowd.
Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and Nicole Richie were a just a few of the style icons who popularized boho in the 2000s, but their penchant for vests, sherpa, headwraps and layered jewelry can be traced back to the 1850s, as the bohemian movement took off in Paris’ Latin Quarter. In the early to mid 20th century, designers such as Paul Poiret, Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld revolutionized the fashion world by embracing flowing, free-spirited styles and by the ’90s, labels like Isabel Marant and Anna Sui were building entire brands on boho aesthetics.
