Bolingbrook To Ask Voters About Video Gambling
BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook voters will be asked about allowing video gambling at a limited number of businesses in the Village on the Nov. 5 General Election ballot.
At its Tuesday meeting, the Bolingbrook Village Board approved the submission of an advisory question concerning video gambling.
Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said that since the pandemic, many restaurants are still financially distressed and video gambling could provide a revenue stream.
“We have had some businesses that have come up and said they need video gambling, and it would help their businesses survive,” Alexander-Basta said.
The advisory question is to see how Bolingbrook residents feel, she added.
“We want to know what the community says,” Alexander-Basta said.
The approved advisory question is: “Should the Village of Bolingbrook allow a limited number of video gambling licenses within the corporate boundaries of the Village?”
