Bon Jovi’s ‘Greatest Hits’ Is Reaching New Highs All Around The World
Bon Jovi’s music has become more popular in the past few weeks than in several years. The band’s catalog is surging thanks to a new docuseries, which tells the story of the group’s earliest days and their rise to the top of the charts. Following that doc’s drop, several songs and albums from the hard rock outfit have been climbing the charts in the U.S., and now that success has extended into other countries.
On the U.K. albums chart this week, Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits is gaining. This time around, the set is up to a new high point—just one week after debuting on the tally.
Last week, Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits finally debuted on the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.K. It opened at No. 92, which is pretty low—but the fact that it made it to the list at all was notable for the group.
Bon Jovi dropped their Greatest Hits compilation in 2010. Until the release of their Hulu docuseries, the project hadn’t performed well enough and racked up enough units in a single tracking week to reach the U.K. chart.
Greatest Hits marks Bon Jovi’s first new placement on the U.K. albums chart in nearly four years. They last debuted on the ranking with something brand new in October 2020. That year, their appropriately-titled full-length 2020 peaked at No. 5. It would go on to live on the ranking for five frames.
So far, Greatest Hits has only spent two weeks on the U.K. albums tally. It’s climbing at the moment, but its momentum doesn’t suggest that it will continue to live on this list for months or even years to come, which is common in the country. Bon Jovi is very popular in the U.K., but their compilation may be a short-lived win…though anything is possible.
